Things We Lost in the Fire (3/10) Movie CLIP - Breathe and Count to Ten ...
Talking to the Follie Girls this morning - and there are things we can not get back unless we change. It is about the moments - We've lost Judy to the Berkeleys - we can't keep pulling on a person and then expect things to be the same.
The fire destroyed our old building - it was our home. We don't yet have enough money to go back to that site- maybe one day somebody will remember the Follies started out as an old rag piece of newspaper with just photos of the best looking ethnic girls in town - a shabby sort - and just start from there.
Maybe someone will pick it up from bones - cause now - if we ain't Vegas we're STi competing with Vegas. That's the building huh? You can afford all this? To keep the girls safe? No. That's the success. And we have to move forward because at that level we weren't going to survive.
Toni got us to the top but will Judy always be Follies? She's Berkeleys now- not that she wants to be. There was word that they still need a 'kanno-kanno' - a place where the girls can see what they lost but still bare the consequences of their choices and maybe rejoin that path.
I'm still grabbing girls by the arm - telling them to get on the stage - those boys are billionaires, I know who they marry - you're just the culture show.
Something I am glad to lose in the fire - the pressure to leave people like Zonker, make posh Valentino - and the girls? They can't cut in the main league - they feel they past that point. Did they or did they get burnt by the fact that they were the show?
Be the show.
Own the show.
The fire burnt down things not people. That's a whole other story.
